Introduction to BlueOval SK

At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers’ experience. As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence. 

Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.

The Change Management Manager at BlueOval SK Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from ground up.

This role will be responsible for using Six-Sigma approach to improving all areas of the business within the facility including, but not limited to:

Plan and Manage changes to the system

Plan and implement revisions and improvements to meet the new standards as the manufacturing operating systems matureLead and facilitate cost studies involving proposed material and process changes that influence operational or capital requirementsFacilitate information sharing between Ford/SK product development, customers and general affairsResponsible to confirm change control processes / tasks across all functional areas are communicated, documented and executedDrive the creation and coordination of work plans (downtime, shutdown, manage the change), and ensure the team is executing. Evaluate the effectiveness of work plansAdhere to and modify Time & Data Management to promote, support, and coach a continuous improvement mindset and activities in the teamResponsible to organize, track and manage all material and process changes through notice, functional trial and purchase part approval process (PPAP)Lead cross-functional manage the change, special builds and process change meetings and activities.

Support issues raised by the teams

Coach, teach, and feedback on resolution of abnormalities, and validate closure of concerns (facilitates permanent corrective actions)Drive continuous improvement on systemic abnormalities to prevent reoccurrence (Only Day shift Team Manager)Support plant capital improvement project funding and implementation activitiesSupport plant-led launch activities, capital expenditure commitment and checkbook balancingMonitor and confirm that manufacturing operating system standards are being applied and adhered to throughout the areaFacilitate Results Process through utilization of standard processes and toolsDevelop, coach, and support to achieve SQDCPME objectives

Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering discipline or strong manufacturing experience preferredLead Process Coach experience6-sigma designation preferredStrong analytical skills and quick decision making capability preferredMicrosoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)

Future relocation to Kentucky is required.
