Position Summary:
Responsible for providing spiritual and emotional support to patients, their families and staff on an on-call basis.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities as Assigned:
1. Responds appropriately to spiritual requests/referrals from patient, family members and staff.
2. Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care and patient health.
3. Provides spiritual support through listening, prayer and guidance in collaboration with staff and other primary caregivers.
4. Participate in and provide educational programs for staff on ethical, spiritual and emotional issues.
5. Develops and maintains a resource group of clergy within the community and healthcare system.
6. Maintains records, reports and other documentation related to the work.
7. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• One year chaplain experience or other pastoral ministry experience
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in theology or related subject
• Clinical pastoral education, minimum of one unit
• Ordination and/or ecclesiastical endorsement
