CHAPLAIN ASSOCIATE - GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL - PRN/OPTIONAL, DAY SHIFT

Job Overview:

This position is to provide Pastoral Care Support at Good Samaritan Hospital    The position is PRN and may require weekends, holidays, and overnight on-call


Job Requirements:

High School Degree  and  at least 1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (2 units prefered)
Ordination or Endorsement by a recognized faith group

Job Responsibilities:

Pursues continued Professional Development: CERTIFIED CHAPLAINS: Completion of required Continuing Education to maintain certification. NON-CERTIFIED CHAPLAINS (Chapain Associates): Completion of 20 hours of continuing pastoral education. 
Documents on EPIC, appropriate information for the nurses, documents about patients' religion and advance directives. 
Informs patients of spiritual opportunities available, offers emotional/spiritual support through prayers and listening presence.
Is a good team members by being generous and flexible in cross coverage for sicknesses and vacations. 
Demonstrates flexibility and initiative in providing services and participation in on-call as appropriate.
Provides Pastoral Care on assigned units of hospital. Demonstrate how you have integrated into your assigned clinical areas (team education, patient care rounds, rountine visits, etc.)
Functions as a positive member of the pastoral care team.
