General Summary: Assesses and identifies the spiritual and emotional needs of hospice patients and families as well as staff and volunteers in accordance with the hospice concept of care.  Coordinates with the Interdisciplinary Team to provid patient/family care.  Responsible for the implementation and management of the hospice bereavement program. Maintains continuity of care by ensuring patient needs is met. 

EDUCATION REQUIRED: 

College graduate with a background in pastoral studies or equivalent studies.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

Past experience in dealing with terminal illness and bereavement issues is helpful.  On-the-job Training: A 4-8 week orientation period is recommended to familiarize the employee with policies and procedures as they relate to the hospice program.
