Chaplain - per diem - as needed
The starting rate for this position is: $23.76 Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer, determination of your offer will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position. JOB SUMMARY Provides spiritual care to patients, families and employees of St. Joseph Hospital by providing visitations according to the standards, policies and procedures of the spiritual care department. · Provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff. · Coordinate/facilitate worship and sacramental services · Facilitate ministry of local clergy who visit St. Joseph Hospital · Provide emergency on-call coverage · Respond to codes, traumas, and deaths · Visit patients for whom a visit has been requested during the same shift. Visits new patients within 24 -48 hours after their admittance so far as possible. · Documents all patient encounters in patient charts. · Maintains "work notes" and statistical records in accord with departmental standards. · Provides competent, compassionate care. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: · Graduate degree in Theology (MDiv or equivalent) · 1600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education · Credentialed by Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Jewish Chaplains, or National Association of Catholic Chaplains. Experience: · Minimum of two years' pastoral experience in a hospital setting desired. Other Skills Required: · Endorsement of ecclesiastical appropriate authority. · Competent, compassionate and caring Additional demands: · Mental demands: occasional weekend rotation, on-call rotation, may impose social life inconvenience, even though predictable on most occasions; · Regular volume of work and hours impose strain on routine basis, · Work location imposes occasional unwelcome interruptions · Regular contact with distressed patients, families or others.
