OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Part-time Chaplain to provide support, advice, referral, and counsel to Residents and their families on spiritual matters. Listen to Resident and family concerns and assist appropriate community staff to implement appropriate actions.

Responsibilities Conduct religious services for Residents, as required and requested.Make Resident rounds. Inform Residents and families of the spiritual care services available.Interview and counsel Residents, families, and staff who request spiritual counseling or advice.Act as on-call community employee for death of Residents.Regularly consult with other department employees regarding the status of Residents’ interests, energy, general health, and spiritual needs.Coordinate and run a support group for staff suffering from acute family grief and death(s) in the community, as needed.Provide grief support groups for Residents as directed.Coordinate and run a monthly Resident religious council to discuss spiritual care issues and opportunities for their community.Maintain a faith library of videos, books, music, etc.Ensure quality customer service to the Residents, families, and staff the department serves.Foster self-respect and a feeling of worth in each Resident by consistent kindness, understanding, and patience in their care.Function as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide quality care to all Residents.Assume responsibility for department compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations.Demonstrate consistent management of staff and resources.Operate department within the established budget guidelines.Organize and maintain all records necessary.Consistently work cooperatively with Residents, staff, volunteers, and families to ensure Residents are receiving the best quality care.Attend and participate in continuing education programs designed to keep abreast of changes in the profession.Participate in developing, planning, conducting, and scheduling in-service training classes to help ensure a well-educated staff.Observe all community policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety, infection control, Residents’ rights, and those contained in the employee handbook.Maintain the confidentiality of all protected health information whether electronic, written, or oral exposed to either during the course of assigned duties or as a result of an incidental disclosure.Apply the Minimum Necessary Standard in all matters related to Residents’ protected health information. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree and CPE Credits preferred.Previous chaplain or other related experience preferred.Member in good standing of the Christian Church.Able to follow written and oral directions.Ability to work independently.Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, Residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.Display leadership qualities, good communication skills, and a desire to continuously learn.
