In this leadership role, you will empower and guide a team of passionate software engineers, including front-end developers, working on the SWIFT GPI TRACKER GUI. You’ll play a key role in delivering a cutting-edge user interface for SWIFT GPI's TRACKER service, cultivating an inclusive, innovative environment where collaboration, design-based software delivery, and continuous learning thrive.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Hiring, Coaching, and Mentorship: Build a team of engineers with diverse perspectives, providing ongoing coaching and motivation to ensure they excel both technically and personally.Collaboration and Team Alignment: Work closely with Product Owners and Engineering Leads to align chapter members with cross-functional squads, ensuring effective collaboration across teams.Leading Front-end Development: Lead a team of front-end developers working with modern frameworks like Angular to deliver a high-quality user interface for the SWIFT GPI TRACKER GUI, ensuring seamless user experiences.Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on software design patterns, architecture, and engineering best practices to enhance the quality of solutions and drive design-focused software delivery.Continuous Learning and Knowledge Sharing: Promote a culture of shared knowledge, transversal consistency, and excellence across chapters, ensuring that learning and development are ongoing.Fostering Diversity and Inclusion: Create an environment that values diverse experiences and perspectives, ensuring every team member feels heard, respected, and empowered.Driving Innovation: Stay at the forefront of technology trends and help your team adopt new tools and methodologies that promote both individual and organizational growth.Performance and Growth: Set annual objectives for chapter members, conduct performance appraisals, and provide constructive feedback to support career development and skill enhancement.Cross-team Collaboration: Actively participate in cross-tribe collaboration, encouraging open communication and the exchange of ideas between chapters and tribes.Design-based Software Delivery: Foster an environment where design and architecture are at the core of software delivery, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions for the GPI TRACKER.Automated Testing for Web Applications: Ensure the team follows best practices in automated testing for web applications to maintain high-quality, robust software solutions.Administrative Oversight: Oversee the administrative needs of the team, including approvals and managing resource assignments effectively.Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent (or equivalent experience).12-15 years of software development experience, with a strong background in full-stack development and Java-based web services.3-4 years of leadership experience, managing and mentoring technical teams.Proven experience leading and mentoring diverse technical teams, including front-end developers.A passion for people development and a deep commitment to creating a collaborative, inclusive work environment.Solid understanding of software design patterns, agile methodologies, and modern development practices.Experience working on large-scale, customer-facing applications, ideally within a financial services environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in Java development and testing, with hands-on experience across the software lifecycle.Experience with Spring Boot, Docker, and containerization technologies.Experience with front-end and back-end multi-tiered applications, with a strong knowledge of Angular for front-end development.NoSQL database experience, with familiarity with technologies like Cassandra.Experience with automated testing for web applications to ensure high-quality, reliable software.Strong communication and leadership skills, with a focus on promoting a diverse and collaborative culture.A focus on design-based software delivery, ensuring scalable, efficient, and maintainable systems for the GPI TRACKER GUI.The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $113,330 MINIMUM to $210,470 MAXIMUM USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Our compensation packages include a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity for all employees contingent on personal and company performance.
