We are seeking a Procedural Pipeline Specialist to join our team at Autodesk Research, specifically focusing on re-imagining procedural geometry and simulation systems for the AI era of our Entertainment & Media Solutions (EMS). This role is crucial in developing the procedural techniques and models that empower artists to create dynamic and complex scenes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both technical skills and artistic understanding, as well as a passion for innovation in procedural content creation.

Responsibilities
Design and develop procedural geometry and simulation setups for gaming, animation and VFX projectsTest and optimize systems to ensure they are ready for data preparation and Machine Learning pipelinesCollaborate with research scientists to design procedural controlsCreate scripts and low-code/no-code solutions that will facilitate automation and efficient dataUnderstand and work within project requirements to create procedural systems that align with the overall visionAssist in procedural data acquisition projectsEnsure all procedural setups and simulations appear natural or appropriate for specific stylesDebug and optimize technical issues in procedural pipelines and modelsStay updated with evolving animation and procedural trends and techniquesLeveraging procedural methods, use creative sensibilities and analytical skills to push the boundaries of model diversityCommunicate effectively with the modeling and science teams to ensure the successful integration of the procedural systems and models into the game or filmMinimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in film/tv/game production working as or closely with Modelers, Effects Technical Directors, and Procedural ArtistsDeep experience in designing and developing procedural geometry and simulation systemsIntimate understanding of procedural principles, style languages, and complexityDriven to develop solutions and tools that put artists at the center of the production using AI capabilitiesProven ability to work within cross-functional teams on productions and/or projectsInclusive with superior collaboration skillsExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesPreferred Qualifications
Up-to-date expertise in cutting-edge procedural animation and simulation best practices, production pipelines, and human-centered designExpert in Bifrost as part of MayaBest practices of check-pointing and re-generating work reliablySolid programming skills to manage artifact creation and managementExperience with multiple procedural content creation systemsPassion for innovation and improving the procedural production processThe Ideal Candidate

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $106,500 and $156,200. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
