About the unit

ICU takes all high acuity patients from medical, surgical, and cardiac. We provide specialized care to our patients providing CRRT and Hypothermia with a nursing ratio of 1:1-1:2 based of acuity.  ICU takes pride in the teamwork and dedication to our patients and families, providing holistic family centered care.

Scope of work

The Charge Lead Nurse role is to provide direct oversight and supervision of all on line unit processes.  This is inclusive of but not limited to staffing and scheduling changes affecting current shift, patient care issues and concerns.  Appropriate allocation of resources responding to all codes, and handling employee issues and concerns.  In addition to ensuring consistent flow of patients through the department. Functions within the framework of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates growth/development.

Qualifications

Associate’s in nursing RequiredBachelor’s in nursing Required within 5 yearsMI Registered Nurse (RN) RequiredTwo years of recent nursing experienceAHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) RequiredAHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) RequiredSpecialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
