Location: New Hartford, NY Category: Sitrin Health Care Center Posted On: Thu Feb 6 2025 Job Description: DEPARTMENT: Nursing POSITION: RN Shift Supervisor (NeuroCare) SUPERVISOR: Neuro Unit Nurse Manager HOURS: Full-time, 3pm-11pm RATE OF PAY: $34.50-$40.50, commensurate with experience. $3,500 SIGN-ON BONUS! Duties: Responsible for the supervision and daily operation of the Neuro Unit during scheduled shift. Duties in this area include overseeing of staff to provide adequate nursing care, to document accurately, and to insure physician's orders are followed and informs families with significant changes in condition. Responsible for the staffing coverage of individual shift and to provide oncoming shift with staffing coverage, when necessary, to maintain prescribed levels. Assumes ultimate responsibility for all resident care delivered during duty hours. Responsible for ancillary personnel performance in the absence of their department head and intervenes when problems arise. Assures nursing staff implements timely documentation of changes in residents' physical and/or emotional conditions in the resident record and/or care plan as necessary and MD notification. Assesses sudden or drastic changes in residents' condition and initiates directive for immediate care with appropriate documentation of assessments. Assures proper communication of resident related information to the following shift. Monitors nursing staff to insure that policies and procedures are followed as written, i.e. monitors nursing staff for the proper administration of medications and treatment. Responsible to assign staff members to inservice classes and continuing education programs. Assists licensed staff with notation of physician orders and interprets transcription as necessary. Determines need for notifications of families and/or administration of events occurring on shift. Completes A&I and secures employee statements on all incidents involving significant injuries per facility policy. Writes investigative reports on all incidents involving significant injuries per facility policy. Access to the entire medical record of all patients/residents. Performs any other duties assigned by Unit Manager and/or Director of Nursing Services. Attend and maintain CPI training. Job Requirements: Qualifications: Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Previous leadership experience with at least one-year supervisory experience in the field of nursing. Demonstrates competency by completing an annual job specific skills checklist.
