28 bed Telemetry Department provides telemetry and Med/Surg level of care for the general medical/surgical, endocrine GI/renal patient population ages Adult to Geriatric 4/5:1 patient to nurse ratio on days and 5/6:1 on nights working 12-hour shifts MAGNET facility Level III Trauma Center Enjoy self-scheduling to help with work/life balance. Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required ACLS – within 90 days of hire required CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 60 days of hire 1-year experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required 2-years’ experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred Current Tele experience strongly preferredIn addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will
Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism have basic computer skills using medical management application systemsWhat you will do
The Charge Nurse
• will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team
• support and actively participate in shared governance/councils
• committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
