JOB SUMMARY
The Chef is responsible for: • Preparing food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and, local standard guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures and directed by the CSM to assure quality food service is provided all times. • Upholding Aramark SeniorLIFE+’s mission statement and attending to our resident’s nutritional needs with integrity and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
A successful Chef will be able to: • Ensure all culinary policies and procedures are followed in accordance with established policies. • Prepare mealsin accordance with planned menu that are palatable, appetizing in appearance • Prepare food in accordance with standard recipes, and special diets and following sanitary regulations as well as with established policies and procedures. • Assist CSM/Asst. CSM with inventory, ordering, storing in-coming food, supplies, etc. and other duties deemed necessary and appropriate, or as directed • Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precaution policy & procedures while preforming tasks
Requirements
• Proven experience as a chef and meets all educational requirements needed for position and attends continued in-servicing as required • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, and facility staff • Prioritization and time managementskills • Ability to assist management in all aspects of the culinary department in accordance with company policies & procedures and all mandated regulations • Knowledge of English language • Customer service skills
Physical Requirements
• Standing up to 95% of the time • Lifting and carrying 25% of time (up to 50 lbs) • Pushing and pulling 25% of the time (up to 50 lbs) • Bending, twisting, reaching, etc. 25% of the time Exposure • Exposure to chemicals both hazardous and caustic, effecting eyes, hands, face lungs, etc. • Exposure to confidential materials • Sound levels may be high due to machinery
