As a Chef Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of food service workers and manage all aspects of a food service department to ensure that we meet the dining service needs of residents & all customers that we serve every day. **What you'll be doing:** + Managing all functions of a small food service department including but not limited to payroll approval, menu management, regular inventory processes and regulatory compliance of the entire operation + Full responsibility for ensuring dining services are operational for every meal, every day + Manage, lead & coach a small team of associates, including hiring, training, coaching and managing performance daily. Responsibility to ensure all new employees meet hiring requirements and experience a positive onboarding and training experience. + Preparing and serving resident meals in assisted living and memory care by actively working as the Cook a few shifts per week. + Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations through daily communication (Daily Huddle), monthly training and coaching. + Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients, tracking weekly expenses to ensure meeting budget and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts for food, labor and other direct expenses. + Conferring with the Operations Support Manager and the District Manager and working with other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service. + Engaging as a member of the Client Management Team and communicating updates regularly with the Executive Director on culinary operations **What we're looking for:** _Must-haves:_ + At least two years of experience directing and coordinating food service operations with experience in assisted living and memory care. + Evidenced culinary skill set including education or experience in small and large quantity cooking. Operating knowledge of institutional kitchen equipment + Food Safety Manager Certification and licensed thru MN Dept of Health (CFPM). (May obtain within first 30 days) + Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff, community staff and leaders, company executives and residents and their family members + The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction. + Computer acumen and experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.
