Job Summary
The summer intern will help develop methods for analytical instrumentation in our Analytical R&D lab.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and research project background and status with mentor Develop/validate method using gas and liquid chromatography and other analytical techniques Conduct analytical evaluations and quantification Make novel observations Collect and interpret data Draw sound conclusions based on data analysis Summarize work and write SOPs Present project reviews before colleagues and peers Other duties as assignedRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOP’s, ASTM’s, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Hands-on experience with separation techniques is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage several projects at one time A junior or senior enrolled in an accredited four-year institution Minimum 3.0 GPA required Major in chemistry, polymer science or materials science Previous internship experience a plus
