Chemical Field Service Technician
Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description

This role directly collaborates with the sales force by helping to discover customer needs and maintain account relationships. The individual will oversee the life cycle and implementation of chemical feed equipment including the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Conduct laboratory testing on various samples taken during processes and be responsible for reporting results daily while ensuring proper inventory levels.

ResponsibilitiesInstall new equipment according to specifications and safety guidelines.Frequent inspection and maintenance to identify and remedy potential issues to prevent equipment failure.Conduct daily chemical analysis and reporting of variables throughout processing, including pH, conductivity, and other qualitative & quantitative analyses.Repair equipment and its components when necessary.Monitor and adjust chemical levels and applications frequently.Provide precise and accurate documentation on inspections, repair, and replacement of equipment.Regularly report on equipment status.Interact regularly with customers to understand their needs and concerns.Communicate repair procedures and provide optimization recommendations for equipment to customers.Maintain high levels of safety standards at all times, including HAZMAT.Train end-users on the proper implementation and maintenance of equipment, and document customer training.Maintain and manage chemical and equipment inventory.Continually educate on technology and industry standards, and attend training sessions.Essential SkillsStrong laboratory testing experience.Technical skills in laboratory, mechanical, chemical testing, and industrial environments.Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, including wet chemistry, pump assembly, and analytical skills.Proficiency in machine maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.Knowledge of hydraulics and field service.Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.Strong communication and relationship-building skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in millwork, pulp and paper, or similar manufacturing environments.Ability to work in hot, loud environments and be on feet for most of the day.Flexible schedule to work weekends as needed.Willingness to travel to locations such as Memphis, TN and Mobile, AL for training purposes, typically between 3–4 weekday trips.Strong technical skills that can be learned through on-the-job training.Work Environment

The work environment is a papermill, industrial setting with very hot working conditions. The candidate will be on their feet for most of the day and must be content with repetitive lab testing and routine shift work. Candidates will be 'on call' during weekends on occasion and must be available to work at any hour of the day, if needed. The organization offers a rapidly growing environment with opportunities to gain knowledge in the chemical industry, 40 hours of PTO, and 6 holidays.
