Chemical Hygiene Safety Manager
Job Title: Chemical Hygiene Safety ManagerJob Description The Chemical Hygiene Safety Manager will be responsible for building out a Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP). This role involves developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive program for the oversight and safe use, storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals to ensure employee safety across the organization. The manager will evaluate current processes, verify personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and provide chemical safety education to employees. Responsibilities + Develop and implement an organization-wide Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP). + Evaluate existing processes to ensure appropriate employee safeguards and controls are in place. + Provide guidance on handling hazardous situations and potential exposures. + Verify PPE usage across the entire organization. + Develop and deliver chemical safety education to employees. + Collaborate with various departments to ensure comprehensive safety measures are in place. + Communicate and interact effectively with employees to ensure understanding and compliance with safety protocols. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field. + Minimum 5 years’ experience in chemical safety, laboratory safety, or environmental health & safety in a manufacturing environment. + 3+ years of experience developing and managing a Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP). + Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA, and ACGIH regulations and doctrines. + 1+ year of chemistry lab experience. + Strong knowledge of handling hazardous materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications + ACGIH membership or certification. + Experience in industrial hygiene. + 5 years in safety management. + Excellent communication skills. + Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. + Motivation and drive to implement and sustain safety programs. Work Environment The Chemical Hygiene Safety Manager will primarily work out of the Windsor facility, with responsibilities also extending to another facility off Kinsman Blvd. The role requires the ability to travel between locations and effectively implement safety plans at both sites. The work environment is highly collaborative, and the organization values continuous improvement and patient, persistent efforts to enhance safety measures. Standard safety attire and protocols will be followed. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00 Compensation package: health benefits, eligible first of monthHRA- $92/month and rest is picked up from company. No premiums outside of $15.Dental: 100% coverage for anything outside of dentist. $2000/year. Preventative care is coveredVisionShort term disability- automatically get 20 days10-15 days of vacation on an accrual basis- can negotiate (looking at 3 weeks)6 personal days a year- prorated basis based on when they start.
