Research & Development | Full-time, Day Shift
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to perform organic synthesis and analysis, supporting component development programs. This role involves conducting industry-specific laboratory tests, developing and modifying tests, and preparing reports to communicate results. You will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, handling inventory, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
ResponsibilitiesPerform organic synthesis and analysis to support component development programs.Conduct industry and company-specific laboratory tests using established procedures.Assist in the development and modification of tests as needed.Develop plans for testing and/or additive blending.Complete preliminary analysis and interpretation of test results.Prepare reports, memos, presentations, and enter data into databases to communicate results to appropriate parties.Handle requests and report results within agreed-upon timelines.Operate specialized test equipment according to established procedures and ensure reproducibility of tests.Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation.Purchase and maintain inventory of samples and lab supplies.Keep the work area neat, clean, and safe.Blend components and/or develop new or modify existing formulations to meet objectives.Analyze various blends and base stocks to determine properties.Perform non-standardized laboratory procedures independently or with guidance from experienced personnel.Ensure complete documentation is maintained on all technical or quality-related activities.Participate in quality-related activities and maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry standards.Essential SkillsExperience in organic synthesis.Knowledge of hazardous materials, including DMSO and Menthol.Understanding of ISO standards, GMP, and analytical chemistry.Ability to conduct a range of organic synthesis reactions under supervision.Proficiency in developing and executing physical, chemical, and mechanical testing.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a chemistry-related field preferred.Understanding of additive chemistry and component interaction in formulations.Ability to contribute to the development process through keen observation and discussion with supervisors.Work Environment
This position operates in an R&D Lab, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. The work environment includes the use of specialized test equipment and requires maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
