Chemical Lab Technician Job Description We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and running laboratory experiments, analyzing test specimens, and performing various tasks related to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of chemistry. Responsibilities + Set up and run laboratory experiments + Analyze test specimens + Perform tasks on projects related to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis, including experimental setup, data collection, and data reporting + Inspect, test, repair, and install equipment + Develop the capability of working independently on project activities while performing work under the supervision of the project investigator + Assist more experienced technicians, technologists, and professionals on technical assignments + Follow the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance program on projects + Record research activities performed in a lab book + Perform other duties as assigned, such as solution preparation, cleaning test cells, moving items throughout the lab, and calibrating equipment following prescribed procedures Qualifications + Bachelors in a science field required (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, etc.) + 1+ years of industry experience is preferred + Strong mechanical aptitude + Experience in a lab environment (can be from school) + Knowledge of chemical engineering and chemical testing + Ability to perform materials testing Work Environment The position is based in a lab setting with 12 other technicians. Standard working hours are from 8am to 5pm, with flexible start times between 7am and 9am. Overtime is very common and can be expected on a regular basis. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
