Operate equipment and perform manual tasks according to established procedures. Move between the areas of Chemical Operations as need to meet production needs, to work off backlogs or to cover manpower shortage. Assist other operators as instructed by department Team Manager. Assist in troubleshooting or problems solving with experienced operators. All functions performed in accordance with operating procedures.
Areas for Chemical Operator:
CONVERSION
Package UO2 powder from the conversion process, maintaining item control. Download U02 powder from bulk containers to polypacks, maintaining item control.URRS
Operate the Assay Meters, Metal Detector, Honing Booth, Ultrasonic Cleaning System, Parts Washer, Shredder and Sorting Hood. Disassemble HEPA filters. Clean and re-valve UF6 cylinders. Receive, unpack, repackage and ship recycled material and/or containers including generation of appropriate records.PELLETING
Perform powder prepping. Operate the press, sintering furnaces and grinder. Stack blanket pellets. Perform D&V inspection of pellets.ALL AREAS
Oxidize uranium-bearing materials in oxidation ovens. Clean filter presses and change cartridge and bag filters. Screen debris from uranium-bearing materials. Perform housekeeping including mopping, manual wiping and painting and other routine duties as assigned. Clean parts and equipment prior to maintenance work or disposal. Perform item control transactions and audits. Adhere to accountability, criticality, safety, security, and hygiene procedures. Assist operators in performing routine duties as assigned. Complete training as required. Move product and/or materials as directed by others. Assist other operators as directed by team manager or higher level operator. Perform any other work specifically assigned by the Manager.Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED 0-6 months of experience is required. 2 plus years of manufacturing experience is preferred Wastewater License is preferred Safety 1st Attitude; Ability to Read, Comprehend and Perform Procedure-Based Work; Mechanical Aptitude; Problem Solving; Attention to detail
