Compensation: Starting rate is $24.17/hr. with opportunity to quickly train and certify. Top operator rates as high as $37.82.

Shift Schedule: Our mill is a 24/7 operation which requires flexibility. We operate on the Du-Pont 12-hour shift schedule.

DS = Day Shift, 6:15am-6:15pm
NS = Night Shift, 6:15pm-6:15am

The Job You Will Perform:
As a Chemical or Boiler/Turbine Operator Trainee, you will start in an entry-level position and perform general physical activities. You will be on track with our training and certification program to learn advanced technical skills. You will be responsible for managing our recovery boiler that produces power to the mill or manage the chemical process associated with our caustic room, lime kiln and recovery boiler.
This type of training to further your career involves the physical, technical and critical thinking ability to safely perform the following:
General Physical Activities – Considerable use of whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Opening and closing valves. Flushing or cleaning equipment. Walking down equipment. Analyze Data, Make Decisions and Problem Solve – Observe and receive information from relevant sources, including but not limited to online data collection systems. Retain and use this information to troubleshoot and correct problems. Monitor and Control Quality – Collect samples and run tests to record data, such as pH levels, temperatures, pressures, and/or processing times. Monitor gauges, recording instruments, and/or flowmeters to ensure that specified conditions are maintained. Control Processes – Continuously watch monitors to detect and correct malfunctions. Think quickly to adjust as necessary to correct production problems and ensure optimal performance.
