This excellent opportunity is responsible for providing technical service and support to catalyst customers by assisting sales personnel and customers to improve catalyst and plant performance. You will maintain technical expertise in catalyst products and their operation, while assisting sales personnel to win additional catalyst business with tailored design proposals using innovative catalyst technologies. Opportunity for this position to be located in the Houston, TX area or our Louisville, KY location.
Responsibilities
Travel jointly with your tandem Sales Account Manager as needed to provide technical proposals and investigate specific technical issues Provide technical support to customers both remote and on-site at the customer’s facility; assist Sales Account Managers with on-site post-sale activities such as catalyst loading supervision, catalyst pre-treatments, plant start-up, troubleshooting, optimization, and catalyst unloading Evaluate plant operating data using proprietary software tools and provide recommendations to improve catalyst operations Provide emergency troubleshooting support when needed to assist customer’s catalyst units Prepare new plant designs and catalyst recommendations using Clariant’s design guidelines and software tools and contribute to technical offering to customers Develop novel technical engineering programs and technical service offerings Provide training presentations and procedure review to customers Optimize existing design tools and procedures to provide more efficient service
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or relevant Technical Degrees Preferred 2 years experience of plant operation or catalyst technical service in chemical plant. Preferred Plant Experience in: Steam Crackers, Styrene, Ethylene & Derivatives, Polypropylene, Oxidation, or Synthesis Gas Must be willing to travel up to 50% to assist with customer on-site support to both domestic and international locations. Knowledge of chemical processes/reactors and prior unit operations / tech service experience to the chemical, syngas, petrochemical, or refinery industry preferred but not required. Fluent in English (required) and Spanish (preferred), Technically Adept with MS Office, CRM Will also consider more senior level talent with experience for more senior level role.
