As a Chemical Process Engineer, you will help guide excellence in our manufacturing processes, using your expertise to improve production, ensure quality standards, and contribute to our mission of shaping the future of aerospace. This is an onsite role at our Sylmar, CA. facility. You will report to the Production Manager. This position will be on 2nd shift can either be 10am-6pm or 1pm-9pm.
Key Responsibilities
Measure, document, and improve current manufacturing process capabilities
Perform process audits daily to ensure processes are being followed and documentation is up-to-date.
Continuous improvement; use data driven approach to implement improvements in the manufacturing areas for process stabilization, repeatability, control, efficiencies of labor, and time and cost reduction in scrap and rework. Implement new tooling, jigs, and fixture designs into the manufacturing process to eliminate waste, reduce scrap, and improve efficiency.
Generate process flow, support manufacturing operators with tools and equipment, and all necessary documents.
Participate in MRB; daily review of product non-conformities and disposition accordingly
Support internal activities associated with successful launch of new products. Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
Meet and support division goals for all internal and external customers.
Drive and lead changes using project management approach and techniques.
Work with multiple manufacturing groups to ensure production standards are met.
Qualifications
US Citizen
Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in a STEM or relevant field
1+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering.
Experience with Urethane based products
Experience in a manufacturing setting with knowledge of casting, polycarbonates composite materials, glass, and plastics is ideal. A
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DOE, FMEA, & value stream mapping.
Salary Range $80,000-$95,000 plus annual bonus
