We are supporting a European leader in engineering, design, and advisory services with a global reach. The firm focuses on creating sustainable solutions across various sectors, including infrastructure, industry, and energy. They have offices in Appleton, WI, and Birmingham, AL but need this person to work at their client site (confidential) in Toledo, Ohio. The role involves completing 20-30 small to medium projects over the next 2-3 years at this site with 15-25% travel to other sites and home offices.
Responsibilities
+ Lead development of process design and P&ID drawings for major and minor detailed engineering projects.
+ Create mass and energy balances for projects and studies.
+ Analyze and define project scope, estimated cost, and technical aspects of a project in accordance with client and their customers' specifications.
+ Perform field surveys in preparation for design.
+ Travel to client facilities for project meetings and gathering of drawings and data.
+ Review and develop drawings, purchase specifications, schedules, operation manuals, and related construction details for projects.
+ Provide technical input and develop control system programming documentation.
+ Lead the preparation of construction documents such as project scope of work documents and bidding documents.
+ Support field installation, checkout, and start-up of mechanical equipment and piping systems, troubleshooting process-related issues during startups or mill visits.
+ Participate and lead client and project team meetings as required.
+ Assist the Project Engineer in performing administrative tasks as required.
+ Show leadership and quality judgment in job assignments.
+ Understand the functionality of process control systems and the operation of process systems.
+ Understand the role of other engineering disciplines in regard to project development and design and the work processes required internally to accomplish the process engineering work.
+ Complete major project work successfully as the lead process engineer or area design lead on at least two projects.
+ Assist with sales efforts such as proposal preparation and business development.
Essential Skills
+ Chemical expertise in manufacturing
+ Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
+ 10+ years of experience
+ Strong technical knowledge and communication skills
+ Leadership role within a project (Project lead, Project manager, Team lead, Chemical Process lead, etc.)
+ Comfortable supporting multiple projects at once
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Cross functional engineering knowledge
Work Environment
This candidate will be working at the customer site in Toledo, Ohio. There is flexibility to work from home but they will be needed on-site at least 75% of the time. The VP is fine with this person staying in the Toledo area post-project and staying on with the company. There is enough business in the area for a potential office to be built. The consultant will report to the site managers as well as our client's process team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.12 - $96.16/hr.
