Job Description
As a Chemical Technician , you will monitor inventory levels, schedule work orders effectively using the ERP system, and handle various materials for production. You will participate in customer and regulatory audits, maintain accurate records, follow manufacturing processes, handle regulated waste, and be part of the Hazardous Material Spill Response Team. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues with quality and delivery.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor inventory levels and schedule work orders using the ERP system.Utilize the ERP system to create work orders, transfer material, and decrement from the system.Change and dispense materials for production as necessary.Participate in customer and regulatory audits such as OSHA and EPA audits.Maintain accurate and detailed product, process, instrument, and training records.Follow current processes for manufacturing, storage, and transportation of chemicals.Handle regulated waste.Gather, interpret, and analyze scale readouts and scripts.Troubleshoot quality and delivery issues as they arise.Create materials to internal specifications in a timely manner and deliver throughout the facility.Adhere to current waste disposal (RCRA) and hazardous material DOT regulations and follow hazardous material spill response protocols.Participate in receiving, downloading, and uploading from tanker trucks into bulk tanks.Be part of the Hazardous Material Spill Response Team.Essential SkillsKnowledge of chemistry, chemical handling, and laboratory practices.Experience with wet chemistry techniques.Attention to detail.Proficiency in unit conversions and measurements.Safety awareness and adherence to safety standards.Basic laboratory experience.Familiarity with UV-Vis and chemical engineering.Understanding of manufacturing processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemistry or other life science preferred.Candidates with an Associate's Degree require 2-3 years of experience working in a chemistry lab.Work Environment
This position requires compliance with all safety standards and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment for extended periods of time (safety toe footwear, gloves, safety glasses, goggles, face shield, lab coat, chemical resistant apron, sleeves, hood, and/or Tyvek suits). Use of a full-face respirator (APR and/or SCBA) for long periods is necessary. The role involves working in a smaller team of 4-6 individuals, emphasizing teamwork.
