Job Description

We are seeking a talented Chemist to join our R&D team. The primary focus of this role is on product formulation, including both new products and those already in production. The Chemist will conduct research on manufactured products to develop and improve them, investigate new and alternate raw materials, and prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of five labs in a large production facility, providing mentorship and guidance in a bustling environment.

ResponsibilitiesFocus on product formulation for both new and existing products.Conduct research to develop and improve products.Investigate new and alternate raw materials for cost control and product improvement.Prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests.Solve problems and manage distressed products or raw materials.Provide technical service support, including customer complaint investigations.Evaluate and interpret test results and make recommendations.Assist in the development and quality assurance of products in the specialty products lab.Utilize balancers, mixers, pneumatic equipment for aerosol cans, and color computers after training.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.3 years of experience in formulations from industries such as paints, cleaning products, aerosols, inks, coatings, or cosmetics.R&D experience.Strong problem-solving skills.Experience in color matching and product development.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in formulations from paints is preferred.Experience in cleaning products, inks, coatings, or cosmetics will be considered (no food industry experience).Work Environment

This role operates on a first shift schedule, Monday - Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with some flexibility in start time. You will be part of a smaller team currently consisting of 2 R&D Chemists and a Supervisor. The company values promoting from within, offering opportunities for pay increases and career advancement. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
