Job Title: ChemistJob Description In this position, you will be responsible for completing analysis of waste stream samples per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and waste analysis plans. You will also manage inventory control for lab reagents, maintain samples and instruments, perform data entry, use analytical equipment, and handle associated filing and administrative activities within the laboratory. Responsibilities + Follow permit requirements to collect and test compounds and samples using applied methods and techniques. + Enter quantities, volumes, and analytical results into waste management software. + Perform QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by the permit and follow all approved Laboratory SOPs. + Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards, including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents. + Operate and maintain laboratory equipment. + Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management. Essential Skills + Knowledge of chemistry, pH, titration, wet chemistry, and gas chromatography (GC). + Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a science discipline with hands-on lab experience in wet chemistry. + Ability to work in a team and fast-paced environment. + Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing. + Ability to stand for prolonged periods while conducting lab tests. + Ability to lift 25 pounds periodically. Work Environment This position operates in a laboratory within an industrial and warehouse setting. The laboratory is clean and well-maintained and you will be working alongside two other chemists. Working hours are from 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with most Saturdays from 8am-12pm or until 5pm if the workload is heavy.
