Job Description
Ensure a high level of accuracy and perform analysis utilizing complex instrumentation such as HPLC and LCMS. Requires critical analytical thinking and decision-making. Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of instruments, and provide updates to supervisors on workstation status, including advance notification of any delays.
ResponsibilitiesReview LIMS summary reports to plan and organize daily work.Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when conducting work.Perform sample preparation and procedures prior to analysis as described in the test methods and review daily workload to accommodate daily rushes.Prepare reagents and calibration standards as required for the analysis.Interpret data, calculate final results, and enter data into LIMS.Carry out quality control procedures and recognize when data is unacceptable using guidelines stated in the test methods or departmental standard operating procedures.Identify any non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling.Identify and communicate procedural non-conformances to the supervisor.Employ proper laboratory techniques to minimize the risk of mislabeling, sample mix-up, and cross-contamination between samples and other materials.Adhere to the Code of Ethics Policy.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field Chemistry laboratory experience from academia or industryExperience with HPLC is preferred.Knowledge of gas chromatography, ion chromatography, and mass spectrometry is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsCompetent in reviewing analytical procedures and practices.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.High degree of accuracy in work.Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking, and priority-setting skills.Ability to adapt to a changing environment.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Work Environment
Hours are 1st shift, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility. No weekends. Benefits include holiday and PTO, flex hours, and significant room for growth and training on instrumentation.
