Job Description

In this position, you will be responsible for completing analysis of waste stream samples per SOPs and waste analysis plan, inventory control for lab reagents, maintenance of samples/instruments, data entry, usage of analytical equipment, and associated filing and administrative activities within the laboratory.

ResponsibilitiesFollow permit requirements to collect and test compounds and samples using applied methods and techniques.Enter quantities, volumes, and analytical results into waste management software.Perform QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by permit and follow all approved Laboratory SOPs.Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents.Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.Essential SkillsKnowledge in chemistry, pH testing, titration, and wet chemistry.Experience with gas chromatography (GC).Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a science discipline with hands-on lab experience in wet chemistry.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to work effectively in a team and fast-paced environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Capability to stand for prolonged periods while conducting lab tests.Ability to lift 25 pounds periodically.Work Environment

The work location consists of several buildings, including warehouse and industrial buildings. You will work in a well-maintained laboratory onsite with two other chemists. The shifts are from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and most, if not all, Saturdays from 8am to 12pm or 5pm, depending on the workload.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00
