Job Title: ChemistJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Chemist to oversee refinery processes and fuel additive projects. This role includes managing product lines, supporting manufacturing, and performing various laboratory tests. The Chemist will coordinate multiple projects, analyze test data, and communicate results to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
+ Oversight of refinery process and fuel additive projects and work requests.
+ Product line oversight including manufacturing support, performance screening, product line development, and maintenance.
+ Plan and perform application tests.
+ Conduct laboratory testing including corrosion testing, acid value, titration, and viscosity.
+ Responsible for stability testing of fuel and oil products.
+ Coordinate multiple projects utilizing knowledge of chemistry, raw materials, and analysis techniques.
+ Operate and maintain laboratory equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and scheduling repairs.
+ Collect and analyze test data to understand, explain, and resolve technical problems.
+ Assist project team by attending and participating in group and project meetings.
+ Write and present technical reports and presentations on testing procedures and project results.
+ Communicate results to internal and external customers.
+ Assist Product Manager/Stewards with product line support.
+ Maintain product documents.
+ Provide product and treat rate recommendations for the sales group and customers.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge and experience in chemistry, formulation, laboratory practices, and quality control.
+ Proficiency in analytical chemistry, research and development, fuel additives, stability testing, corrosion testing, titration, and viscosity.
+ Experience with lab techniques such as acid values, titration, and/or viscosity.
+ Familiarity with gas chromatography (GC) and atomic absorption (AA).
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
+ 2+ years of experience working within an industrial chemical lab, preferably in the energy industry or an oil refinery.

+ Strong ability to collect and analyze data.
+ Effective communication skills for writing and presenting technical reports.
+ Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
Work Environment
This is a lab-intensive role that requires working with various laboratory equipment and conducting detailed analyses. The position involves following strict operating instructions, troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, and maintaining laboratory supplies. The Chemist will work within an industrial chemical laboratory setting, which may require adherence to specific safety protocols and procedures.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $38.46/hr.
