Actalent is looking for an energetic, articulate, and passionate individual for an Experienced Lipid Chemist for our client in the Biotech industry. The successful candidate would be a specialized scientist focused on the synthesis, analysis, and characterization of lipids often for applications in drug delivery, materials science, or other areas of research and development. This person will be responsible for working with the CDMO customers to help create different delivery systems.

They will also be responsible for: Characterize, troubleshoot, and interpret analytical data from instruments such as HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, etc. Maintain the chemistry laboratory and inventories following good laboratory practices. Regularly communicate with supervisors and peers about research findings and propose next steps.

Must Haves:

CDMO Expertise

Bachelor of chemistry or biochemistry

3+ years working with Lipid Nano Particles or LPN's

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead and design experimental strategies in developing proprietary lipids by adopting new chemical methodsDesigns and conducts elaborate, conceptually connected, multi-component chemistry experimentsCollates and interprets complex data systematically, and synthesizes results into a cohesive body of conclusions or recommendations to guide project decisions and new research activitiesExercises solid judgment to prioritize studies, considering feasibility and Project impactPerforms advanced and/or complex experimental troubleshootingScours relevant scientific literature and routinely incorporates new insights into research activitiesIdentifies, prioritizes and introduces relevant emerging technologies in his/her field of expertise to advance the existing technology platforms and create/maintain a competitive advantageExplores the feasibility of applying new scientific principles/concepts or implements and validates novel experimental approaches and technologies to achieve project goalsContributes significantly to patent and/or publication preparationIndependently prepares study presentations and presents experimental conclusions at internal Group/Department or Project Team research meetings

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
