Your Role at KIK
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Formulation Chemist to join our dynamic Research & Development team. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative products for the Pool & Spa market. As a Formulation Chemist, you will be responsible for conducting experiments to create new products, validating process and material changes for existing formulations, and collaborating closely with production teams to ensure product quality and drive continuous improvement initiatives. We are looking for candidates with at least 1+ year of experience, which could include internships or lab-driven coursework, ideally within a laboratory or chemical production setting. What You’ll Be Doing
Conduct laboratory experiments to develop new formulations and products. Test formulations to validate stability and performance meeting target product requirementsProvide technical support for Operations and Production as needed for new and existing productsPursue opportunities for Continuous Improvement to reduce product costs, process complexity, and/or variabilityManage pilot trials at production sites to support new product and process launches
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in science, chemistry, biology physics, engineering or related field requiredA minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, which can include internships or lab-based coursework, preferably within a laboratory environment, is requiredMust be able to prepare written and/or verbal communication to a diverse group of audiences ranging from other technical personnel to business-oriented personnel and customers Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve to support production challenges Ability to multi-task, work on multiple projects, and prioritize activities in response to changing business needs. Ability to travel to support nationwide production facilities The preferred candidate will be curious, detail-oriented, and with the ability to problem solve. They will value teamwork and be effective cross-functionally. They will be results-oriented and possess a sense of urgency to ensure efficient development and production of high-quality products. Effective communication, presentation, and computer skills (e.g., Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, etc.) – specifically the ability to generate technical reports regarding process changes or product quality inquiries
