Job Title: Chemist
Job Description
+ Perform analytical and physical tests on formulated products.
+ Set up and maintain laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GC, particle size detectors, and viscometers.
+ Train and supervise lab technicians and chemists in proper analytical procedures.
+ Ensure tests are performed accurately and timely.
+ Develop and maintain procedures to comply with ISO 9000 and ISO standards.
+ Follow and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
+ Emphasize the importance of safe work habits, including wearing necessary safety equipment.
+ Work towards maximum productivity and the highest standard of quality.
+ Search for ways to increase efficiency and reduce costs, reporting ideas for cost savings to management.
+ Prepare data for import into computer systems to generate reports.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GC, LC-MS (single and triple quad), and GC-MS.
+ Strong analytical chemistry skills.
+ Proficiency in mass spectrometry and wet chemistry.
+ Bachelor's degree in the life sciences with 2-4 years of HPLC/GC experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Supervisory and troubleshooting experience preferred.
+ Associate's degree with relevant HPLC/GC experience considered.
+ Willingness to learn triple quad experience from specific companies.
Work Environment
Work in a production chemistry lab at a large agricultural chemical company in Webster City, Iowa. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM, with occasional weekend work if necessary. The facility is continuously improving, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. The lab staff includes around 6 lab technicians, with chemists sharing supervisory duties over the technicians
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
Full benefits: 401K, health benefits, vision, dental, holiday pay, paid time offno sick days but can use PTO 2-4 weeks for anything.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Webster City,IA.
