What We Need: Brady Corp is seeking a R&D Chemist II who will be an influential and visible member of the Materials R&D department with responsibility for providing hands-on research, technical knowledge, and leadership to develop new products through commercial launch, and support existing products within the Healthcare and People Solutions (HPS) business. Technical areas of focus will be in pressure sensitive adhesives, durable inks and coatings, print on demand technologies, sensor and indicating labels, anti-counterfeit products, RFID labels and wristbands, and other associated technologies. What You'll Be Doing: + Leads hands-on research projects that deliver business results. + Perform as Technical Lead on various project activities through a defined Stage Gate process. + Works well within cross functional teams to enable new product development project success. + Works closely with operations to support new materials, quality concerns, and process improvements. + Works with site manufacturing and test engineers to complete product qualifications. + Understands how to follow existing test methods (ASTM), and how to develop new test methods. + Understands process capability and variability, design selection criteria, structure property relationships, iterative problem solving, risk management, and intellectual property fundamentals. + Effectively communicates the right data to the right decision makers at the right time. + Assures and validates proper documentation of responsible technical and experimental activities. + Up to 5% - 10% travel; overnight and on-site work possible.
