Chemist IIResponsibilities + Assist in the execution of the laboratory work necessary for commercialization of pharmaceutical products. + Perform hands-on laboratory bench work preparing solutions and processing samples for testing in accordance with approved procedures and methods. + Conduct laboratory work with a high degree of accuracy and precision, including but not limited to, quantitative weighing, dilution, sample handling, and processing. + Ensure all laboratory work is documented in accordance with approved procedures. + Perform and maintain labeling for solutions and samples, and maintain an organized workspace to ensure there is no chance of mix-up. + Process sample data to determine reported results, ensuring results are reported appropriately in designated computerized systems and/or directly to stakeholders. + Review data to ensure conformance with specifications and trends, and immediately report unexpected data to laboratory management for further investigation. + Comply with laboratory procedures and SOPs, following written and verbal directions from chemists to execute tasks and develop skills and independence commensurate with training and experience. + Build knowledge and prowess offered through training and guidance to increase manual skills and competence on instrumental analysis using HPLC, GC, dissolution, UV-visible spectrophotometry, and other techniques. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science, with additional 1+ years' within food, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industry preferred + Academic knowledge of chemistry, mathematics, and laboratory concepts. + Academic exposure and knowledge of the majority of the following: HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, titration, and wet chemistry. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy. + Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Proficiency in using computerized systems for data entry and reporting. Work Environment Monday through Friday, during the 1st shift. The work environment is a laboratory setting requiring the use of specialized equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
