Job DescriptionEurofins Environment Testing Southwest- Tustin CA is searching for a SVOA Chemist III to prepare and analyze environmental samples following EPA protocols in adherence with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Extract and prepare samples for analysis by GC and GCMSEvaluate chromatography and mass spectra for qualitative and quantitative criteriaMonitor and manage sample backlog workload to meet client program requirementsUpload and peer review data using the laboratory information management system (LIMS)Perform basic instrument maintenance and repair, including column replacement and ion source cleaningPrepare standards and reagents for sample analysisMaintain instrument calibrations in accordance with laboratory QAQC requirements.Evaluate methods and procedures for efficiency and accuracy improvement opportunitiesEvaluate new instrumentation and technology for implementation in the laboratoryWork with department managers and lab staff to develop and validate new instrumentation and methodologies to ensure targeted timelines are metAssist with creation of standard operating proceduresTroubleshooting issues with instrumentation, equipment, procedures and methodsPerform general housekeeping within the laboratory to maintain an organized and safe working environmentConduct daily duties in an efficient and safe manner, remaining compliant with environmental health and safety programsPerform other laboratory duties as assignedQualificationsThe ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
5+ years’ experience operating a GC or GCMS in an environmental production laboratory setting, preferred.BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years laboratory analytical experience may substitute for a degreeExperience with GC and GCMS repair and maintenanceEffective time management and multitasking skillsAbility to work independently following written and verbal instructionsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in EnglishAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipAdditional InformationCompensation Range: $26 - $32 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Position is full-time with a Sunday - Thursday, 7am - 4pm shift with possible overtime as needed.
