Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Analytical Chemist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, performing, and completing various laboratory projects under general supervision. This position offers the opportunity for long-term growth and involvement in method development and validation roles within a dynamic, mid-sized company.
ResponsibilitiesPlan, perform, and complete projects under direct supervision.Conduct method performance, transfer, development, feasibility, and validation.Set up, adjust, operate, and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments, including HPLC, GC, Dissolution, Disintegration, IC, TLC, Titration, Specific Rotation, KF, FT-IR, LOD, Friability, UV/Vis, ICP, MS, CVAA.Independently perform lab tests to determine physical and chemical characteristics.Analyze data and perform technical assessments as required.Utilize data acquisition software and instrument operating software.Work under general supervision while exercising a certain degree of independence and judgment.Plan and accomplish goals using limited experience and judgment.Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.Essential SkillsKnowledge of analytical chemistry.BA/BS in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field preferred.1-4 years of related industry experience in an analytical laboratory.Knowledge of laboratory safety precautions and protocols for handling hazardous materials.Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills.Ability to understand and effectively communicate technical and business information.Intermediate mathematical skills, including algebraic functions, statistics, geometry, and use of scientific calculators.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to work varied and extended hours as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with wet chemistry, sample preparation, and stability testing.Proficiency with HPLC and GC.Physical ability to regularly lift/carry/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.Ability to climb stairs and stand for extended periods during laboratory bench work.Work Environment
The position is based in a fast-paced, high throughput lab with 45 total employees, including 27 technical staff within the labs. The work environment is collaborative, with a tight-knit team. The role is within the 'Discovery Support Lab,' which includes 8 team members. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with only a first shift available. There are opportunities for long-term growth and significant responsibility within the company.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.
