Objectives/Purpose of the Job:

Perform pharmaceutical GMP wet chemistry and instrumental analysis of raw material, in-process, finished product and stability samples in the quality control chemistry laboratory in accordance with all applicable FDA/EP/JP regulations. Assume the responsibility for the GMP, ISO, and Environmental Health and Safety procedure awareness, and compliance within the respective area. 

 

Key Activities/Responsibilities:

Provide on-demand in-process chemistry laboratory testing support to the manufacturing department.  Description, color, pH testing, osmolality, specific gravity/density testing of in-process, finished product and stability samples. Viscosity testing using Brookfield models LVTDV-I, RVTDV-I and HADV-III digital viscometers. Particle size testing of suspensions using the Microtrac S3500 Particle Size Analyzer and ASVR. Karl-Fischer titrations using Brinkmann 701 KF and 720 KFS Titrino autotitrators. IR testing using Perkin-Elmer Paragon 1000 FT-IR. UV testing using Hewlett-Packard 8453 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. USP TLC-ID testing for steroids and antibiotics using USP monographs. Monthly calibration and maintenance of Mettler DA-300 Densitometer, Advanced Instruments 3D3 Osmometer, Monthly calibration and maintenance of the Microtrac S3500 Particle Size Analyzer. Support OpEx and EHS&S initiatives.  All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Training:

B. S. in Chemistry preferred, Minimum B.A. in Chemistry or related science. 1-3 years in GMP pharmaceutical chemical analysis. Skilled in conducting GMP chemistry laboratory analysis using wide array of reagents/ chemicals and analytical tools. Working knowledge of instrumentation listed in job duties, various Data Analysis tools and standard chemistry laboratory procedures.

 

Shift: Monday to Friday / 8:00am to 5:00pm
Start Pay Range: $ 25.96
