Chicago Assembly FCSD PVT Resident

In this position….

The Chicago FCSD PVT Resident is located in the Chicago Assembly Plant PVT Office and reports to the FCSD PVT Manager.  Primary responsibilities include proactively identifying service risks on the plant vehicle line(s) during Launch / L-TIS and working urgently to enable Dealer capability to fix vehicles right the first time without Ford assistance. Position will be full time onsite in plant environment.  Position will have opportunities to travel to support product investigations as necessary.  

This position is located in Chicago, IL and is onsite. 

You'll have: 

Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology (or equivalent) required Proficiency with Ford Databases (GCQIS, WERS, MMP, GSAR, TWAS) required Automotive Service technical experience required  Strong verbal communication, technical writing, and presentation skills are a must Capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks

Dealer Employment experience (fixed operations) desired  FCSD field experience desired  Knowledge of Product Development process and structure desired Adapt quickly to supporting ad-hoc projects

In this role, you’ll: 

Identify product Quality concerns during Launch and L-TIS that present a risk to customer satisfaction, unnecessary warranty expense, vehicle off-road, and RAV.  Pre-launch proactively review cases in JIRA / Automated Issues Management (AIMS) and evaluate concern severity, risk of concern being present in the field, and current Dealer capability to diagnose and repair service risks identified.  Investigate Masked codes approved by the enterprise and communicate to dealers as needed. Spearhead preemptive service repair readiness actions by coordinating Parts & Software availability, publishing awareness messages and TSBs.  Be the face of FCSD to the PVT.  Become immersed with other PVT residents, engineers, and New Model Launch Teams.  Represent FCSD in EWRT’s, CCPAT’s, Hard Rocks, meetings, etc.  Monitor Onsite Modification programs (OSM) and Plant Stop Ship/Builds to identify potential service risks and proactively coordinate service readiness and/or communications to Dealers. Support Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Early Concern Binning (ECB) reviews to identify service concern trends sooner.  Support Supervisor to execute the Early Dealer Feedback process following major launches. Represent FCSD at CCPAT/EWRT (Rapid Hub) with GCQIS / Service data.  Ensure detections and other service pain points are managed on CCPAT Tracker.      Utilize GCQIS Concern Management to manage and track service concerns identified. Work with Design for Service counterparts to develop relationships and processes for hand-off after key milestones (e.g., <LR>, other) Liaise with Core CIDR Team to develop relationships and strategically / efficiently hand-off after LTIS / Launches (e.g., 90 / 120 / 180 days post-OKTB).  Leverage Emerging Concern and QSF processes to accelerate service solutions with key stakeholders.  Ensure hard rocks and concerns that require leadership assistance are smartly escalated to the Supervisor. Utilize and develop proficiencies in data systems such as but not limited to: AIMS, QED, BSAQ, JIRA, GSAR, GCQIS and test fleet data to identify potential service risks.
