Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Chief, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (Chief CRNA).
Job Responsibilities:
Motivates staff to expand their practice by encouraging participation in hospital and department activities such as conferences and in-services, PowerPoint presentations, participating on committees, precepting students. Delegate responsibilities and mentor management behavior. Collects and files staff data and provide access to appropriate personnel. Schedules meetings and conferences as required or needed. Oversees CRNA scheduling and assignments. Provides approval for time off and overtime. Supervises staff activities. Remains abreast of and implements policies and procedures as required by federal and state agencies, anesthesiology department, and Human Resources. On an as needed basis, implements focused review and counseling. Maintains required credentialing of staff: current NYS RN registration, anesthesia recertification, health assessment. Staff professional development: Encourages evidence based, safe practice through completion of annual mandatory requirements: iDevelop courses, department job specific competencies, continuing education lectures. Ensures completion of ongoing assessments through bi-annual peer review , OPPE, ePerformance. Ensures completion of mandatory orientation requirements throughout the probationary period, including three and six month assessments. Ascertains if required certification of graduate anesthetist has been obtained within one year. Assists in the credentialing process by serving as a link between the departments of anesthesiology, nurse recruitment, occupational health services, medical staff and human resources. Provides a forum for networking and communicating job opportunities. Recruits and assesses the competency of potential candidates. Meets with administration regarding staffing trends. Manages and implements changing needs of the department in concert with retaining staffing needs. On an as needed basis, provides relief in the OR.Minimum Qualifications:
Current NYS RN License CRNA Certification Prior CRNA experience

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 – $195,179.92 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
