ABOUT THE ROLE The role manages local accounting activities in accordance with group-wide (international) / national accounting principles and standards. The role ensures the accuracy of the organization’s financial statements and compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, as well as reporting requirements. The role is also responsible for developing and supervising junior accountants, providing guidance as well as support on complex activities, ad hoc requests, and key issues in the execution of duties. This role is also expected to assist in continuous improvement projects as defined by the Head of Accounting & Reporting and to collaborate with the GBS Centre in centralizing transactional P2P/O2C/R2R activities. In addition, this role will be also leading the team to manage and co-ordinate company secretarial activities with Legal Counsel for Barry Callebaut Maroc SARLAU KEY RESPONSABILITIES INCLUDE + Prepare financial statements, ensure timely and accurate accounting books closing, and ensure material/significant financial items are accurate, reconciled and prudent. Prepare the necessary paperwork for financial reporting purposes. + Consolidate / prepare the reporting of the local finance entity and produce compliant internal as well as external reporting. + Govern the quality, consistency, and integrity of financials. + Develop, deploy, and ensure compliance with accounting policies as well as directives. Decide on the accounting treatment of individual complex issues (judgment-based perspective). + Oversee internal control frameworks and ensure the design efficiency as well as operating effectiveness of internal controls. + Consult with various Finance and IM / IT functions to anticipate and address potential accounting issues. Leading and coordinating projects to improve business performance and operations + Manage closing cut-offs, deadlines, perform post-close reviews, supervise closing tasks, and review key trial balance accounts and reports + Manage / review estimates, provisions and accruals + Perform inventory controls including physical and cycle count programs together with CSD Controller, ensure assets in book balance and physical balance are reconciled timely + Prepare, review, and submit financial disclosure (e.g., financial statements, notes and supplementary information) for reporting purposes + Prepare / review tax returns, tax supporting schedules, forms for local authorities + Ensure adoption of new/revised accounting standards + Support auditing processes, ensure findings are valid and cleared + Identify weak and ineffective controls & processes, close gaps and implement new / revise processes to ensure financial efficiency and effectiveness + Driving continuous improvement initiatives regarding processes, technologies, and organization + Identifying and supporting cost savings and productivity initiatives to drive cost leadership + Support the Finance Business Partner to develop, distribute and monitor accounting policies and procedures, continuously improve accounting and reporting processes to increase accurately and efficiency + Deploy and govern local Finance policies and procedures, ensuring internal controls are effective and complied. Flag / raise alert of non-compliance. + Distribute and communicate local Finance policies and procedures to internal stakeholders, ensuring internal controls are effective and complied. Identify/Monitor non-compliance. + Communicate / cascade process changes to affected internal stakeholders to ensure change management is well transited ABOUT THE YOU + Bachelor’s / Master’s in Finance, Accounting and must be a Chartered Accountant of CIMA/ACCA or other equivalent association + Minimum 5 years Finance experience + Experience in a multinational company, preferably in B2B / food industries / FMCG / fast paced environment + English business proficiency both written and oral + Extensive experience in finance: accounting and plant controlling is a must + In-depth knowledge of manufacturing environment + Knowledge of controlling and financial methodologies and reporting + IFRS and local GAAP knowledge + Analytical / hands-on / flexible but even more important very solutions oriented and performance driven to achieve the targets + SAP and Sage X3 knowledge At Barry Callebaut, we are committed to Diversity & Inclusion.
