CHIEF BUSINESS LINE LENDING OFFICER, Entertainment - Beverly Hills, CA., Los Angeles, CA. WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Chief Business Line Lending Officer will provide leadership in the implementation of a cohesive and consistent credit culture, ensuring consistency in credit philosophy, review and field credit office procedures. This person will build and support effective partnerships and communication between the Credit team and the Relationship Managers and Team Managers while serving as the lead technical expert on all credit issues for the Entertainment Division. Evaluate and examine credit requests in order to assess credit worthiness including loan quality, credit risk classification, loan structure, collateral analysis and pricing in adherence to bank policies.The Chief Business Line Lending Officer is responsible for leading credit and service quality, evaluation of credit risk for new and existing clients, reducing business risks and tracking credit performance on an ongoing basis while working collaboratively with the Team Managers, Team Leads and Relationship Managers. What you will do Lead, build and develop a talented and creative team with significant knowledge, skills, experience and positive work habits to support successful delivery of the company’s credit strategies in support of the goals set by the Entertainment Division. Oversee credit underwriting and approval process to ensure quality, consistency and compliance with the Bank’s underwriting standards. Evaluate and examine credit requests in order to assess credit worthiness including loan quality, credit risk classification, loan structure, collateral analysis and pricing in adherence to bank policies. Work closely with the Relationship Managers in structuring credit transactions that meet with the Bank’s credit standards. Set the loan pricing, as needed, in conjunction with the bankers. Operate in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations and ensure that all operating procedures are in full compliance with bank policy. Participate in the development, implementation and adherence of policies and procedures to comply with the Bank’s credit standards, and its regulatory, legal environments. Oversee the preparation for and participation in federal examination, independent audits and all internal audits. Provide representation for the Entertainment Banking Division on various committees as appropriate. Banking/Credit Acumen – contribute to the fast paced growth environment within the entertainment banking division simultaneously dealing with credit structures that are unique to the entertainment industry by: Focusing on quality growth while maintaining an appropriate risk/return balance Knowing current policies, practices, trends and information affecting the credit function and organization Making well thought-out decisions based upon mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment Relationship/Business Development - develop strong working relationships with the various bankers and relationship managers to foster a client focused environment by: Consistent and responsive communication to ensure client needs are anticipated and potential deals structured quickly Partnering with others and sharing advice and solution oriented ideas Must-Have* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Minimum 10 years of experience in structuring credits/loans ideally in commercial and middle market business banking. Five years of management or supervisor experience in underwriting or credit management Five years structuring credit and managing large complex credit transactions Skills and Knowledge This knowledge and skill set is typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in structuring credits/loans ideally in commercial and middle market business banking. Experience in structuring credits/loans for film/tv production, sports franchise financing, and music publishing is highly desirable Excellent analytical, mathematical and reasoning skills. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Excellent knowledge of credit, accounting, credit policy and financial statement analysis. Excellent ability to analyze credits, as well as detailed knowledge of lending structure and cash flow analysis. Proven leadership skills and experience, preferably in a large private/consumer/commercial banking environment where influencing skills are as important as authority. Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships within the lines of business and to influence others to achieve a high level of performance with respect to credit quality and asset growth Excellent skills in motivating staff and assisting in the creation and achievement of individual and team goals. Willingness and ability to communicate with staff so that everyone feels informed at all times. Perception as a trusted advisor by both the staff and the client. Strong strategic skills that will assist the staff in creating strategies for each client. Compensation Starting base salary: $195,995 - $364,003 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
