Manage and oversee cost estimation processes for federal construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance with government estimating guidelines, and competitive bid proposals.
Job Requirements:
10-20 years of experience in estimating, including at least 5 years as a Chief Estimator
Experience using PROest Estimator software
Proficiency with Resident Management Systems (RMS)
Background in federal construction contracting
Familiarity with government estimating guidelines
Strong track record of stable employment with minimal job changes
Preferred Skills:
Experience with risk assessment and value engineering
Knowledge of subcontractor and supplier bidding processes
Job Responsibilities:
Review project documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts, to determine project scope
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Develop and submit comprehensive bid proposals with accurate pricing
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and intent
Assess potential project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to align estimates with project goals
Monitor material, labor, and market trends to adjust cost projections
Maintain organized records of estimates, assumptions, and project correspondence
Conduct post-bid reviews to refine future estimates and improve accuracy
Pay: 40-60

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
