Chief Engineer
Join our dynamic team as the Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) Program Chief Engineer, leading the technical forefront for Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (A-ISR) programs. In this pivotal role, you will develop strong customer relationships, steer business growth, and execute strategic initiatives. You will mentor and inspire a talented engineering team while serving as the primary technical interface between our company and customers. Your extensive aerospace background to design, development, and test of complex A-ISR systems will enable you to provide expert guidance and innovative solutions. You will generate and maintain product baselines across multiple programs, ensuring consistency, continuity, and configuration management. Responsibilities:

Overall technical leader and authority to the program, customer, and partners.Implement innovative techniques and technology that shape the future of our business, work with cutting-edge solutions, and advance within a global company dedicated to providing our country a competitive edge.Responsible for the performance of the engineering team and effective resource management, communicating needs to various disciplines to ensure projects are adequately staffed and exceed commitments.Drives technical execution and performance measurement of the CPI/SPI process to ensure all program requirements and objectives are met on schedule and within authorized budget.Ensures design-to-cost targets are achieved.Mentors and develops engineering talent, fostering an environment of learning and adherence to best practices.Assist Program Management in areas of operational execution, change management process with impact assessments, trade studies, and assertions.Ensures Integrated Project Teams (IPT) develop, maintain, and communicate resource requirements to support program execution.Ensure program and technical scope is understood, and identifies budgetary needs for successful execution.Provides technical support to production and sustainment as needed.Lead technical proposals and budgetary estimates to ensure overall compliance and requirements are achieved.

Must Haves

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or (STEM) or a related field and typically 14 or more years of relevant technical experienceThorough understanding of all phases of design lifecycle management to include requirements, design, integration, test, and sustainment Advanced knowledge and understanding of industry best practices and techniques for program management, science, and engineering programs Possess advanced technical knowledge and experience; working knowledge of industry trends and historical contextProven ability to work with department-level business leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms; ability to tailor conversations to adapt to technical vs. non-technical audiencesPrior experience developing and maintaining product line technical baselines that support multiple programs, ensuring consistency, continuity, and configuration controlExperience developing technical proposals and cost volumesAbility to support program and technical reviews, and provide guidance to staff on technical solution synthesisStrong aerospace systems engineering background with applicable Jet Aircraft design, integration and test experienceAbility to multi-task in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

Typically 8-10 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experienceMaster's degree or higher in an Engineering or similar field of studyProven leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, and conducting yearly reviewsProven experience and skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, and strategic thinkingAbility to quickly grasp technical concepts and understand complex technical and program interdependenciesPrevious management experience; ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee staffing development and maintenanceDemonstrated passion for ideation and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.Possess a strategic mindset, linking technology and businessTeam oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionBackground in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense (Civilian), NASA/Civil or commercial space and/or US Military, with an understanding of defense, aerospace, intelligence, and adjacent markets

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
