Chief Engineer
Pay: $85,000-105,000
Location: Nashville, TN
Shift: M-F
The Chief Engineer oversees the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems including fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls) electrical (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, primary switch gear), lighting and temperature controls systems, critical environments, and light construction.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate technical expertise in HVAC maintenance & troubleshooting and be multi-skilled in other areas (pipe fitting/plumbing, electrical) in order to successfully complete work assignments.Frequently work at heights, work in changing environmental temperature extremes, lift move and/or carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), perform overhead work often while standing on a ladder and to do all of these duties in a safe manner.Regular/predictable attendance and timeliness in order to support the needs of the team and the clientWork independently and as a team and serve as a role model for supporting team membersMake justifiable business decisions taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of each individual situation.Ensure that the SOPs for the facilities are well-understood amongst the maintenance team who perform work on the building’s critical infrastructure.Subject to be on-call 24 hours per day and required to work in all weather conditions. Expectation is that the Chief Engineer will be on-site within ~45 minutes for any emergencies.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (TEAMS, Outlook, Word and Excel). Must have the ability to use a computer and smartphone and navigate multiple email accountsEffective use of CMMS (Corrigo knowledge is a plus) to maintain KPI requirementsExcellent internal and external customer service skillsFinance/Budget general knowledge to assist Facility Manager.Communicate well with varying levels of staff, contractors/vendors and customers both verbally and in written formThe ability to teach others by “doing”.Experience in Critical facilities, Lab environments, and High-Rise environments is required.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Strong people management skills and team leading skills are required.Supervise maintenance staff to include training, mentoring, and assisting with personal development.Supervisory responsibilities are shared with the assigned Facility Manager.Working Environment:
Working environment and location can change based on factors such as but not limited to work orders submitted, workloads at various sites, etc.Qualifications:
Associate Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience5+ years facility-related work experience, including customer service, leadership, and supervisory experienceCertification as a Universal Technician for CFC’s required.Location:
