Job Title: Chief Engineer
Location: Washington, DC (Onsite)
Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI Clearance Required

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to support our Department of State project in Washington, DC.

The Chief Engineer will lead complex engineering initiatives, overseeing the integration and management of large-scale systems in support of the Department of State. This role demands deep technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to advise senior executives on technical strategies and innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

Organize, oversee, and integrate engineering activities for complex systems of systems, ensuring seamless functionality and high performance. Serve as the senior engineer for global-scale networks, providing strategic direction and technical leadership. Advise executive-level business and operational leaders on technical strategies, emerging technologies, and risk mitigation. Collaborate with industry partners and academic institutions on research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) projects. Develop and implement engineering frameworks and best practices to ensure system security, scalability, and efficiency. Oversee system architecture design, integration, and optimization efforts. Lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and Department of State standards. Ensure compliance with federal regulations, security requirements, and contracting standards.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree or higher in a STEM or IT field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or Statistics). Doctorate or Master’s combined with expert-level IT certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, TOGAF) preferred. 10+ years of experience in engineering or IT roles, with a focus on complex system integration and large-scale network management. 3+ years of experience organizing, overseeing, and integrating engineering activities for a system of systems or serving as a senior engineer for a global-scale network. Proven experience advising executive-level leaders on technical strategies and complex engineering solutions. Strong background in research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) projects in collaboration with industry or academia. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting the Department of State or other federal agencies. Familiarity with federal acquisition, compliance, and security standards. Strong understanding of systems engineering frameworks and methodologies.
