Chief Engineer
The Chief Engineer has overall responsibility for all aspects of facility management services and/or operations. The Chief Engineer is the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations. They will create an unwavering attitude and commitment to safety and reliability within the facility management environment. The Chief will drive continual improvements to the operation by creating an expectation of learning and development of their team members. 
 

Pay:  $88.99/hour

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Position Responsibilities: 

Oversee all aspects of the facility’s critical physical infrastructure  Oversee the development and accuracy of site-level operating procedures and other documentation  Supervise and escalate as needed ABM’s response to after-hours emergencies at assigned facilities  Manage the Change Management Program  Manage the MOP, SOP and EOP Program  Audit all CMMS databases for accuracy and completeness, produce reports as required at customer request, control system access and user credentials  Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures of assigned contracts  Manage the complete physical assets pertaining to the Operation and Maintenance of the critical and non-critical infrastructure equipment and systems  Resolve all electrical, mechanical and Fire Protection System issues in the facilities while minimizing risk and business impact and communicate issues to management and customers in a timely manner  Manage the customer relationship and act as the single point-of-contact for all facility-related issues, including schedules, new business, projects, budgets, expansion, and staffing  Set, review and approve employee work/PTO schedules, audit and process employee time and payroll  Manage access to the facilities ensuring the appropriate access control lists are maintained and reviewed regularly  Make space and power recommendations to the customer and manage power and cooling capacity and environmental conditions  Ensure compliance of Customer SLA parameters and Change Control activities, review and approve all system changes (set-points, thresholds, alarm-points, etc.) which could impact customer operations  Ensure that ABM training expectations are met and audit the process monthly  Identify, vet, and approve all sub-contractors who will perform work on-site  Develop PM contract scopes-of-work, ensure contract terms are fulfilled  Performs other duties as assigned or requested. 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

5 years+ of Engineering experience 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

Formal knowledge of HVAC Components (VAV’s, Air-Handlers, Pumps, unit ventilators, etc.)  Ability to read and interpret blueprints.  As required, highest-level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC, plus universal level refrigerant recovery license  Computer skills and building automation systems experience required.  Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements as required.  EPA 608 Certified (preferred)
