You will define the future of Edge computing by:
Leading the strategy for the embedded computing technology stack across various technology organizations within the GE Vernova Advanced Research Center.
Working to drive the tech stack for the future of real-time control systems as well as application code software architecture and segmentation.
Providing thought leadership on disruptive edge technologies and market trends with a strong understanding of what the competition is doing.
Driving the development of Edge technology solutions as key architect for embedded software and hardware stacks used in commercial and defense applications.
Leveraging latest development in Edge and embedded cybersecurity solutions to define software and hardware requirements for secure edge applications.
You will work with Engineers and Scientists across multiple technology organizations to identify embedded technology trends with disruption potential for existing GE businesses. You will collaborate with key GE business stakeholders and C-suite level executives as well as with external partners such as universities, national laboratories, and government agencies to:
Lead early stage technology development with high disruption potential and mature these technologies from initial concept to successful product introduction.
Coordinate disruptive technology efforts in close collaboration with our GE businesses and ensure that such efforts are incorporated into long-term multi-generational technology and product road maps.
Drive technology and product roadmaps to ensure our businesses have a multi-year strategic plan that is competitive
You will lead the externals strategy for embedded computing to create and foster relationships with government agencies within the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Energy to influence and shape government funded research that aligns with GE interests by:
Shaping and responding to government solicitations related to Edge computing, real-time controls, and advanced AI/ML algorithms at the Edge.
Working with business stakeholders to identify and foster partnerships with major defense contractors to shape opportunities for future military edge applications.
Owning bid/no-bid decisions in response to funding opportunities related to Edge computing and AI/ML controls technology solutions.
Leading multimillion-dollar R&D programs aligned with GE businesses.
Identifying and mentoring key technical talent to serve as Principal Investigators on large government programs.
You will communicate these cross-organizational and cross-business technology strategies to Senior VP and CEO level executives across GE as well as to C-suite level stakeholders at external businesses, government agencies, and universities.
Required Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related engineering field with a minimum of 15 years of experience OR Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related engineering field a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience
A minimum 10 years of experience leading teams or large projects
Demonstrated deep domain knowledge in the areas of edge computing, software architecture, real-time controls, and advanced AI/ML based controls algorithms
Experience leading large government research programs and writing successful R&D proposals
Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary research teams, and reporting out to Senior VP and CEO leadership levels

The base pay range for this position is $180,000-$350,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will be posted until at least 6/11/2024.
