Summary of Position
This job provides technical support of the KNCT broadcast facility
Minimum Required Education
High School Diploma/ GED required with (4) years’ experience in installation and configuration of digital Sound/Audio/electronic systems or Associate Degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Electronics and (2) years’ experience in installation and configuration of digital Sound/Audio/electronic systems.
Minimum Required Experience
Two years wage earning experience with installation, repair and configuration of broadcast audio systems required. One year Supervisor/Management experience preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ The candidate should be familiar with FCC rules and regulations pertaining to a broadcast facility or willing to complete training to receive the Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer certification through the station consulting coordinator within 6 months.
+ The candidate is also required to prepare, and maintain engineering department budget.
+ This position requires a demonstrated capability in the installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of typical broadcast equipment to include: FM transmission equipment, microwave STL equipment, audio equipment and automation system.
+ Capable of component level troubleshooting of analog and digital electronics and proficient in the use and configuration of computers and computer networks
+ Ability to work effectively with the public, students, and broadcast professionals.
+ A knowledge of proper electrical, broadcast engineering, and installation practices.
+ A thorough knowledge is required of the necessary electronic test equipment and the use thereof.
+ Experience is required in developing operational and maintenance procedures, preparation of fiscal planning (budget), development of equipment spare parts lists and inventory.
+ Ability to organize complex engineering tasks.
Salary 1K pay category/Per Salaried Pay Scale
Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - 7:30am-5:30pm Mon-Thur.7:30am-11:30am Fridays., Other - nights,weekends,holidays when needed., Temporary, include dates of employment, Other - Flexible schedule at times
