Chief Financial Officer Canton, NY (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Canton+NY+USA+13617) Job Type Full-time Description REPORTS TO:Chief Executive Officer RATE OF PAY:$123,600 - $137,400 annually POSITION SUMMARY: This position shall be responsible for all financial operations of United Cerebral Palsy Association of the North Country, Inc. d.b.a. Cerebral Palsy Association of the North Country and Community Health Center of the North Country. It shall ensure Administration and the Board of Directors receive timely and reliable financial information. This position shall safeguard the assets of the Agency by establishing adequate internal controls and ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement from funding sources. The CFO shall act as the principal liaison for banking and financial activities. EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES: + Provide the Chief Executive Officer with timely and accurate financial information to meet government, regulatory, and management directives. + Ensure adequate controls are installed, and substantiating documentation is approved and available for independent and governmental audits. + Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization, including organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, and development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets. + Oversee and ensure the recording and maintenance of fixed asset schedule, as well as the accurate recording of depreciation expense for financial statements, proper inventory, and location of property, plant, and equipment. + Prepare and present monthly financial statements to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors. + Monitor the banking activities of the organization. + Evaluate the finance team and plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the team, as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth. + Serve as one of the trustees and oversee the administration and financial reporting of the Agency’s Retirement Plan. + Investigate cost-effective benefit plans and other fringe benefits that the Agency may offer employees and potential employees. + Perform other duties as requested by the Chief Executive Officer. Requirements + Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree, MBA, or CPA preferred. + Five to seven years of financial and management experience with day-to-day financial operations. + Minimum of five years of supervisory experience. + Demonstrated ability to manage and lead staff effectively. + Ability to develop and function within a team environment. + Demonstrated use of Microsoft Office products. + Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to staff and administration at all levels, verbally and in writing. + Ability to communicate and find reasonable solutions to complex situations as they arise. + Ability to represent the organization positively, both within the organization and in the community. + Ability to function positively in a continuously growing and changing environment. + Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. + Excellent hand-eye coordination. + Ability to sit for long periods. + Ability to rapidly/accurately process numerical data. + Ability to tolerate extensive exposure to computer monitor/screen. + Ability to tolerate extensive use of computer keyboard.
