The CFO is accountable for the administrative, financial, Information Technology and risk management operations of the company, including the development of financial and operational strategies, metrics tied to those strategies, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. RESPONSIBILITIES:
PLANNING
Assist in formulating the organization’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic Mission plans Develop financial and tax strategies Manage the capital request and budgeting processes Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic directionOPERATIONS
Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team Manage the accounting, investment, legal, tax, and insurance relations Oversee the financial operations of all corporations Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced Oversee the company's transaction processing systems Identify and implement best practices Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitionsFINANCIAL INFORMATION
Oversee the issuance of financial information Personally review and approve all filings with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation Report financial results to the board of directors and the executive management teamRISK MANAGEMENT
Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry Construct and monitor reliable control systems Maintain appropriate insurance coverage Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies Report risk issues to the Chief Executive Officer and, if significant, to the audit committee of the Board of Directors Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendationsFUNDING
Monitor days cash on hand and cash forecasts Arrange for debt financing In cooperation with the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors, invest funds Oversee profit-sharing planTHIRD PARTIES
Participate in calls and meetings with the investment community Maintain banking relationships Represent the company with investment bankersINFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company. Work with the Executive Management Team to grow the company through the use of technological resources. Using an active and practical approach, directs the IT Department to attain the company’s strategic goals established by the company’s strategic plan.QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience; MBA in Finance and the Certified Public Accountant license preferred.
Must have 10+ years of progressively responsible experience working for a major company or division of a large corporation. Should have experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
